Machine Shops

Hendershot Tool Co. operates two oilfield machine shops specializing in drill string repair. We use hardened and ground thread gages which are periodically checked against our master gages. These master gages are traceable to the U.S. Bureau of Standards. We also verify with precision gages that the threads' lead and taper are within API tolerances. We offer cold rolling of threads and kemplating newly cut connections.

Other services we offer include:

HARDBANDING
Drill Collars, Drill Pipe, Weight Pipe, Standard Tungsten Carbide, or Fine Particle Tungsten Carbide, and Chrome Alloy.
Can be applied either flush to the OD, or raised above the OD

REBUILT TOOL JOINTS
When your drill pipe tube is still usable, but your tool joints are worn too small, rebuild the box and pin OD and rethread - for a fraction of the price of new.

STUBBING DRILL COLLARS
Too many recuts have left your collars short? Stub to new length and recondition your drill collar string to like-new condition, for a much lower cost.

SPLICE KELLYS
Lengthen or shorten the working space with our specialized process, or stub a new upset onto the kelly.
